Top 5 for Marco Iten
Shortly before his 28th birthday, Marco Iten made his best result on the Europen Challenge Tour. With a scorecard of 72, 67, 66 and 68 (-11), he takes T4. In the Challenge Tour's Order of Merit, he climbs up to 48th place from 86th place.
After the first round, it did not look optimal for Marco Iten at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France. He started on hole 10 and took two double bogeys on his first nine holes. However, with five birdies he managed to limit the damage with the 72-card. In the remaining rounds, he finished three times clearly under par. With daily results of 67, 66 and 68, he constantly run up the leaderboard. The third round had to be interrupted early due to heavy rain, as the greens were partially under water.
Very special was the end of the tournament. On the final three holes, he played Birdie, Doppelbogey and an Eagle on the 18th! With his clearly best result of the 2018 Challenge Tour season, Iten can celebrate his birthday on July 26th with a major sporting success.
In the annual Order of Merit ranking, Iten is now in 48th place. Joel Girrbach as the best Swiss is currently in 32nd place. Girrbach did not particiapte at the tournament in France.
