European Tour: Girrbach misses cut twice

Joel Girrbach appeared twice on the European Tour in August, but missed the cut at the Czech Masters in Prague as well as last week at the Scandinavian Invitation in Gothenburg by two strokes.

Challenge Tour: Raphaël De Sousa three times in the prize money

The Challenge Tour started in the far north in August. At the Finnish Challenge in Vierumäki, 25 kilometers north of Lahti, four Swiss PGA members made the cut: Marco Iten ranked 28th as the best Swiss; he needed 282 strokes (6 under par) for the four rounds. Raphaël de Sousa and Joel Girrbach each ranked in 36th place (284), with Benjamin Rusch finishing in 61st place (290).

From Finland, the tour continued to Skanderborg in Denmark. In the Made in Denmark Challenge, Raphaël de Sousa made the cut as the only of the five Swiss competitors; he finished 33rd with 274 strokes (14 under par). The scores at this tournament were very low and winner Callum Hill played the four rounds 22 under par.

Last week, the Rolex Trophy was hosted at the GC de Genève, de Sousa's home tournament . De Sousa was the only Swiss in the field of only 40 professionals. He played solid - with an outstanding third round with 66 strokes (6 under par) - and ranked 32nd with a total score of 281 strokes.

Staysure Tour: Bossy twice in the cut

The European senior professionals played the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship in London earlier this month. André Bossert started the tournament with two strong 69-round, dropped a little on the third day with a 75, but fought his way up to 24th place with a 70 on the final day. Paul Wesselingh failed the cut with rounds of 77 and 74.

The election Maienfelder retaliated two weeks later at the Scottish Senior Open in Craigielaw. With rounds of 70, 73 and 75 strokes, Paul Wesselingh finished 17th in the tournament won by Paul Lawrie. André Bossert fought a bit less fortunate and finished in 37th place with a total score of 222 strokes.

Pro Golf Tour: Two Swiss top 10 classifications

At the Starnberg Open in mid-August Luca Galliano ranked as the best Swiss on rank 7. With Benjamin Rusch (31) and Zeno Felder (47), two other Swiss PGA members made it into the prize money. The Grisons amateur Mauro Gilardi played in Bavaria his first professional tournament, made the cut right away and classified at 45th place.

Another solid result by Jeremy Freiburghaus at the CzechOne Open last week; he finished 8th in Karlsbad. Benjamin Rusch took two more strokes than Freiburghaus and finished 14th.

LET / LETAS: Caroline Rominger in the Czech Republic in top-20

At the European Ladies Tour as well as the LET Access Series, two Swiss women made the cut: the experienced Proette Caroline Rominger and the young amateur Caroline Sturdza. Rominger finished the three-round tournament with a total of one under par and was ranked 20th. Sturdza needed one more stroke and was 31th.

With a bogey-free final round of 65, Caroline Rominger not only made it to the podium at the Czech Ladies Challenge in Bystrice at the beginning of August, but narrowly missed her first victory as runner-up. With a total score of 210 (-6), she was clearly the best Swiss. Rank 11 was shared by the two Swiss amateur players Pricilla Schmid and Elena Moosmann. With Caroline Sturdza (42th) another Swiss amateur made the cut. Also in the prize money Clara Pietri and Melanie Mätzler (T47) and Anaïs Maggetti (63th).

At the Anna Nordqvist Vasteras Open in Bjärby (Sweden), only Anaïs Maggetti made the cut and ranked (38th) in the prize money.

LETAS then visited France in the middle of the month. At the Bossey Ladies Championship Caroline Rominger was once again the best Swiss. With rounds of 68, 71 and 73 strokes (total: 212 / -1), she finished 5th. The amateur Elena Moosmann was 27th, Melanie Mätzler (31st) and Clara Pietri (43rd) also made it into the prize money and also the amateur Audrey Haddad (45.) was in the final round.

Symetra Tour: Kim Métraux in Michigan ranked 14th

Kim Métraux achieves her best result on the Symetra Tour at the beginning of August at the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Romande is ranked 14th with rounds of 69, 72 and 69 (total: 210 / -6).
