Challenge Tour Top Result for Marco Iten
Thanks to an impressive final round of 68 at the Monaghan Irish Challenge at Concra Wood Golf Club, Marco Iten got his best career result as professional golfer. Iten carded the four under par round, including a chip-in eagle on the par four eighth to finish in the runner-up spot. With the second rank he makes a big step forward in the European Challenge Tour's annual order of merit.
Marco Iten played very regular daily results of three times 70. Despite bitter cold temperatures and a lot of wind, he once again showed a clear performance increase. Thanks to a chip-in eagle on hole 8 (par 4), he was already halfway through the round at four under par. At the end he placed two strokes behind the Englishman Oliver Wilson (-12).
"Of course I would like to win, but the joy of second place is greater than the annoyance of a missed victory," summarizes Iten right after the tournament. He made little mistakes despite difficult conditions.
With this top result in his pocket, Iten jumpes in the Challenge Tour's tour order of merit from rank 62 to 37. Thus, the chances are very good that Iten will be in the Challenge Tour's final event in United Arab Emirates.
