Omnium Suisse 2018: Luca Galliano superior victory

With a comfortable 3 shot lead, Luca Galliano wins the Omnium Suisse 2018 at GC Montreux. The Swiss PGA playing professional, who last made the cut at the Swiss Challenge, shined on the second day with a new course record of 64.

Overall, 39 Swiss PGA professionals competed for the title and the CHF 19'000 prize money.

With a comfortabel half-time lead of 6 shots, Galliano went into the two Sunday rounds. In the third round, he was even able to increased his lead to eight strokes. Thanks to two late birdies on the final two holes, he also kept his last round under par and finished with -20.

Raphaël de Sousa, however, made a lot of pressure. De Sousa played the second best round of the tournament and came up with the 65-card, only three shots short of a tie break. He finishes on the excellent 2nd place.

Third and thus best amateur was Mauro Anderi, who plays for the Golf Club St. Leon-Rot. He secured himself three strokes ahead of the next Swiss PGA professional Jean-Luc Burnier while Marc Dobias secured 6th place.
