Swiss Olympic Coach Award 2018

The 42-year-old Marc Chatelain was the first time a coach of the Swiss PGA has been awarded with the Swiss Olympic Coach Award. Under his leadership, the Swiss golf juniors won the silver medal in the team competition at the European Championships.
For the seventh time, Swiss Olympic awarded the "Swiss Olympic Coach Award" last night. The jury, consisting of Peter Regli (President, swiss coach), Mark Wolf (Head of Swiss Trainers, Federal Office of Sport), Luana Bergamin (Head of Sport and Development, PluSport) and Ralph Stöckli (Chief of Mission, Swiss Olympic), signed in In the ceremonial setting in the Sport-Toto-Halle in Magglingen two junior trainers as well as an elite trainer in disability sports, who had earned their work in the past year for the Swiss sport.
Marc Chatelain, Swiss PGA Vice President and Captain was honored as the winner of team/team sports. All award winners receive 5,000 francs each from Swiss Olympic in recognition of their enormously important work. Ralph Stöckli emphasized: "Even if this is not always perceived as such in the public sphere: the junior trainers are crucial for the development of junior athletes. They are the interface to elite sports and must ensure that the young athletes receive exactly the support they need on their way to the top. "
The "Swiss Olympic Coach Award" is awarded annually in several categories and serves as a supplement to the "Coach of the Year" in December as part of the "Sports Awards".
